Here is an action packed addition to this prolific author’s ‘Code Red’ series. Ben and his cousin Annie start off innocently bird watching and before you know it they are embroiled in a highly dangerous mission to save the world from a deadly weapon commissioned by a Russian oligarch for sale to any rich rogue state and developed at Spadeadam under the noses of the RAF.

This is a classic succession of insuperable problem, ingenious solution and nail biting resolution sequences, which keep the pages turning and the adrenalin pumping. There is an underlying concern for the plight of hen harriers, which is close to the author’s heart, and a moral point that human misery caused by conflict is to be avoided at all costs, and ironically, vicious weapons have a part to play in that. ‘If you wish for peace, prepare for war.
