A brief summary of the changes that have occurred in the British countryside from the earliest times to the present day. If I say that the whole of that synopsis is encapsulated in thirty pages, almost half illustrations, you will understand just how brief the summary is. However as simple reference for the eleven-plus age group, it is undemanding, well-presented and concisely cogent, with colourfully detailed illustrations by Stephen Lee.
